Schedule

Where can I find my schedule?

You can find your timetable in Moodle, listed under your faculty. Additionally, you can find timetables on the pin boards of your faculty. Please contact the dean’s office of your faculty for more information.

Semester fee

To which bank account do I need to transfer the money?

All information is included in the (re-)registration letter, which you receive via email. You can also find it on our website under Important Forms and Deadlines.

I missed the deadline for the semester fee! Can I still reregister?

Yes, you can. Please immediately transfer the semester fee to the correct bank account and inform us by email that you have paid. Reregistration is not possible with any additional delays.

How can I register or deregister for an exam?

You will receive an email with all relevant information concerning exam registration and deregistration as soon as it becomes possible to register for exams in the current semester.

Change of degree programme

I would like to switch to the first semester of a degree programme with open admission. What do I have to do?

If you want to switch to a degree programme with open admissions (not N.C.) and start in the first semester of study, then you can apply using the University’s online application portal during the regular application period. Applications cannot be submitted at other times or after the deadline!

I would like to switch to the first semester of a degree programme with restricted admission. What do I have to do?

If want to switch to a degree programme with restricted admission (N.C.) and start in the first semester of study, then you must apply online through uni-assist until 15 July for the winter semester (just like any other applicant). Unfortunately, an application for the summer semester is not possible for bachelor’s programmes.

I would like to switch to an advanced semester of a degree programme with open admission. What do I have to do?

If you want to switch to a degree programme with open admission (not N.C.) and start in an advanced semester, then you must submit an application by 10 May (for summer semester) or by 10 November (for the winter semester). You can get the application form in the Student Service Centre.

You must have enough credit points to change your degree programme (the exact number of CP is determined by the relevant Examination Board). Furthermore, you must have a valid university entrance qualification (‘Hochschulzugangsberechtigung’) that qualifies you for the new degree programme. 

Please note: there is no guarantee of admission to an advanced semester in a degree programme with open admission. Applications are reviewed on an individual basis.

I would like to switch to a higher semester of a different degree programme with restricted admission. What do I have to do?

If you want to switch to a new degree programme with restricted admission (N.C.) and start in an advanced semester, you must submit an application by 15 March (for summer semester) or by 15 September (for the winter semester). You can get the application form in the Student Service Centre.

You must have enough credit points to change your degree programme (the exact number of CP is determined by the relevant Examination Board). Furthermore, you must have a valid university entrance qualification (‘Hochschulzugangsberechtigung’) that qualifies you for the new degree programme. 

Please note: There is no guarantee of admission to an advanced semester of a degree programme with restricted admission, because only a limited number of places are available each semester. If all places are taken, then a change of degree programme is not possible!

You can request an application for credit transfer from your dean’s office or download the form from Moodle. This form, along with all supporting documents, must be submitted to your dean’s office.

Academic leave of absence

What are valid reasons for an academic leave of absence?

You can only be granted an academic leave of absence for important reasons:

  • Voluntary ecological service or voluntary social service
  • Enrolment at a foreign university or language school, unless required by relevant examination regulations
  • Serving out a prison sentence
  • Professional occupation to further the pursued aim of degree programme (excluding the internship semester)
  • Illness
  • Pregnancy
  • Care and education of underaged children according to § 25 Abs. 5 Berufsausbildungsförderungsgesetz
  • Providing medical care and support to a spouse, registered partner or next of kin

All requests for academic leaves of absence must be submitted in writing. Please fill in the application form and submit it to the Student Service Centre.

Deregistration

How can I deregister?

Please fill in the application for deregistration and submit it to the Student Service Centre.

Am I allowed to keep my student ID card although I want to deregister?

If you want to deregister by the end of the semester, you can keep your student ID card until then.

If you want to deregister before the end of the semester you must return your student ID to the Student Service Centre together with the deregistration form.
