Onboarding for Newly Appointed Professor
Background
As a newly appointed professor, you will face a multitude of tasks and expectations right from the start. These can be particularly challenging for professors at Universities of Applied Sciences (UASs) because the triad of requirements—comprising "practice, teaching, and research"—often clashes with the diversity of professional backgrounds.
Objective
With the structured onboarding program "My Start as a Professor at HSRW," we aim to not only welcome newly appointed professors as members of the HSRW faculty but also actively support them in balancing the various demands of their new role.
Program
The onboarding includes individual discussions for professorial development planning (PDP discussions) and (internal) coaching offerings, as well as continuing education modules designed to establish a foundation for academic work, tailored to the diverse career paths of the participants.
