Centre for Academic Development and Quality (ZfQ)

The Centre for Academic Development and Quality (ZfQ) is a central institution of the University, which is responsible for continuous quality management in teaching and learning as well as the the continued professional development of students and teachers. The Centre for Academic Development and Quality has five separate divisions: Key Qualifications, Evaluation, the Social and Academic Advisory, the Service Point for Lecturers, and the Innovation in Teaching ans higher education didactics.

The Centre for Academic Development and Quality is headed by Professor Dr Marion Halfmann, Vice-President for Studies, Teaching and Continuing Education.

Key Skills

The Centre for Academic Development and Quality (ZfQ) supports the continuous academic and personal development of students and teachers at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences with a range of key skills workshops. Workshops are geared towards the needs of students and teachers and offered regularly in Kleve and Kamp-Lintfort at no charge.

Evaluation and Continuing Education in University Didactics

Two core aspects of quality management in university academics are the satisfaction and professional development of students, professors, lecturers and scientific staff. These are top priorities for the Centre for Academic Development and Quality (ZfQ), which combines continuous evaluation of teaching and learning with custom tailored measures for improvement to ensure a high standard of quality for education at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences.

Teach and Learn Editing

Social and Academic Advisory / Study Guides

Unexpected academic and social problems are roadblocks on the path to students’ academic success. To help students manage these problems and get back on the right track, the Centre for Academic Development and Quality (ZfQ) at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences provides one-on-one counselling services.

 

Service Point for Lecturers

Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences supplements and enriches its degree programmes with sessional lecturers from a variety of fields and backgrounds. These teachers, and the practical skills and experience they bring, play an important role in maintaining high degrees of practical relevance in our teaching. Sessional lecturers are supported during their time at the University by the Service Point for Lecturers.
