Dear First Semester Students and Campus Newcomers

Welcome to the Faculty of Communication and Environment

Welcome and congratulations on your choice to study with us. You have chosen a university that is one of the youngest and most modern universities in Germany. In choosing your degree programme, you have also chosen a faculty that is unique in Germany in terms of its innovative spirit, interdisciplinarity and internationality. On our campus in Kamp-Lintfort we have the most functional premises, most well-equipped facilities and, in particular, the most innovative, state-of-the-art laboratories for teaching and research.

The faculty is characterized by a wide range of interdisciplinary topics, ranging from computer science, media design, energy and environmental technology to organizational psychology, international business or the mobility and logistics of tomorrow. In addition, our international focus has led to an almost 50 percent share of international students. So congratulations on your choice. You have done exactly the right thing in these difficult times. You have decided to study with us which proves that you look ahead and set the course for your long-term professional future. I hope that you will continue to pursue your goal and successfully gain your university degree.

Welcome to our faculty and good luck in your studies.

Klaus Hegemann
