“A leopard can't change its spots.” Nonsense! Each and every one of us, regardless of age, has the potential to be a lifelong learner, to explore and expand their knowledge, skills and horizons. All you need is some curiosity, courage and enthusiasm. My job is to accompany people on their own individual career journeys, and it’s both a privilege and a wonderful challenge.
In 2015, Imke Hans joined Rhine-Waal University in Cleve as scientific staff for Career Service & Employability at the Faculty of Society and Economics. Her tasks comprise career orientation and counselling with regard to all career-related issues as well as talks, lectures, workshops, concept creation and events with a broad range of topics. These include self marketig, social media, employability, networking, inspirational keynotes and may more.
Imke Hans obtained a degree in English and German Studies (Mag.) from the University of Osnabrück and a degree in Intercultural Communication (M.A.) with a focus on training, coaching and mediation from the Technical University of Chemnitz. She has worked, among others, as a project manager, trainer, consultant and texter in different industries and countries and worked on numerous scientific projects e.g. regarding corporate succession.
In 2013 she began to work as a careers advisor at the Technical University of Chemnitz. Two years later, she implemented the Career Service FSE at the Faculty of Society and Economics and has been continuously developing and expanding its offers ever since. In this role, she profits from her experience in areas such as online marketing, e-learning or recruitment. Next to her work, she is continuously gaining further qualifications, among others as a systemic counsellor (DGSF), in forest pedagogy, ESD (Education for Sustainable Development), and environmental pedagogy.
Imke Hans has been a member of several senate commissions, was a senator, is currently a member of the faculty council and held the office of central equal opportunity officer from 2019-2021.
