Dr. Jan Niklas Rolf
Jan Niklas Rolf was born on the Lower Rhine. He holds a bachelor's degree in Political Science and Economics from RWTH Aachen University and a master's and doctoral degree in International Relations from the University of London. After his doctoral thesis on the domestic analogy, exploring the normative foundations of theories of global order and justice, he turned to their practical implications. His research on development cooperation, security policy and other current issues in (international) politics has been published in peer-reviewed journals, edited volumes and monographs.
Jan Niklas Rolf worked as a researcher at the FernUniversität in Hagen, Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf and Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences. He has also been a guest lecturer at several universities in Germany and abroad. Since 2023 he works at the Competence Center for Social Transformation at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences. He is co-editor of the journal Political Science Applied and co-author of the books Kultur in den internationalen Beziehungen (Springer VS, 2018) and Parteianhängerschaft in Deutschland (Springer VS, 2023). In 2018, he won the teaching award of Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences.
