Dr. Jan Niklas Rolf
Dr. Jan Niklas Rolf was born in Viersen. He holds a bachelor's degree in Political Science and Economics from RWTH Aachen University and a master's and doctoral degree in International Relations from Royal Holloway University of London. After his doctoral thesis on the concept of the domestic analogy, exploring the normative foundations of theories of global order and justice, he turned to their practical implications. His research on the security-development nexus, humanitarian intervention, cosmopolitanism, nationalism and other current issues in international politics has been published in peer-reviewed journals, edited volumes and monographs.
Niklas Rolf worked as a research fellow at FernUniversität in Hagen and held several lectureships at national and international universities. Since April 2015 he works as a postdoctoral researcher at Rhine-Waal University. He is co-editor of the journal Political Science Applied and project leader of the DAAD-funded workshop 'Non-Conflicts' in Central Asia. In 2018 he won the teaching award of the University.
