Our approach to learning

• It doesn't get more practical: right from the start, you will work on real-life problems in a project-based approach, closely supervised by professors. Block modules and self-directed learning allow you to individually design your course of study.
• From breadth to depth: learn more than just traditional engineering! Understand technical links and how sustainability can be implemented right from the start. The focus is on topics from mechanical engineering, but always with sustainability in mind.
• Methodological competence: We teach you all the skills you need to find suitable and sustainable solutions not only during your studies, but also for new challenges at work. Develop your own individual skills profile!
• Intercultural competence: Studying in English allows you to learn how to communicate and work together in international teams.
• Closely supported by professors: In this degree program, the lecturers take on the role of mentors and learning guides and not only want to support you in your studies, but also inspire you, nourish your creativity and, of course, help you with their specialist knowledge and expertise.

Course structure

In this study programme, we focus entirely on project-based learning. You will start with several small projects in the first semester to get to know this special form of learning and studying, and you will be closely supported by your mentor. Our focus is on mechanical engineering but always with sustainability in mind.

You won't find traditional lectures and seminars. Instead, we focus on the individual selection of learning paths and support you in building on your strengths and developing further skills. You will spend your time both in teams in our laboratories, so that you can apply your theoretical knowledge directly in practice, and in self-study, so that you can really delve into topics.

Over the course of your studies, the projects will become more complex and challenging. You can choose for yourself which specialist skills you would like to acquire and thus become either an expert in one field or a generalist.

Then you've come to the right place! With this degree course, you can pursue careers in sustainable product development, environmental technologies or international projects. It is aimed at anyone who wants to take a holistic and future-oriented approach to engineering.

Due to its special project structure, this degree course also has some requirements for you. For example, you have to be on campus at least three days a week during the semester.
