Shaping materials of the future

Your entry into the world of modern, sustainable materials: The Bachelor's study programme Nature-Inspired Materials combines chemistry, materials science and biology to prepare students for the development of materials inspired by or derived directly from nature.

One study programme, three specializations - choose your path!

After your first semester where you learn all the necessary bacis you can specialize in one of three exciting areas:

Biomaterials specialization: focus on the interfaces between materials and biological systems, bioderived materials and nature-inspired innovations.

Material Technology specialization: focus on the technical development and production of new materials.

Management specialization: combination of materials science and management for leadership roles.

Here you can take a look at the exemplary study programmes.

What's special about this study programme?

  • Interdisciplinary approaches: Linking chemistry, biology and materials science.
  • Innovative content: Explore how biological principles can be used to create new materials.
  • Practical relevance: A practical semester or semester abroad and the Bachelor's thesis combine theory with real-life applications.
  • Intercultural competence: Studying in English helps you to learn how to communicate and collaborate in international teams.
