On 1st July 2019 87 graduates and their families and friends experienced a moving afternoon with many speeches and honors. The ceremony was accompanied by Prof. Dr. Thomas Pitz who was playing the piano. In his speech the Dean, Prof. Dr. Ralf Klapdor thanked the graduates of the Faculty Society and Economics: “We are proud of our graduates, especially the international graduates, because they had to get used to a foreign society and culture. But also the German graduates benefit from the unique, international atmosphere and we hope that after graduation both groups will take these positive impulses and experiences along on their further life.”.

Also, this year the Katjes prize which is worth 1,000 Euros was awarded for the fourth time to one of the faculty’s graduates. The Faculty Society and Economics can nominate all degree theses from the previous year which received a very good result. Further criteria are the practical relevance of the topic, innovativeness of the approach, the feasibility of results as well as the scientific quality of the thesis. Representatives of the university and the company choose the winner together. Our graduate Ann-Kathrin Koch from the Bachelor Degree International Business and Management received the reward in recognition of her excellent Bachelor thesis with the topic: “The Challenges of Work 4.0 for Generation Y – Boon and Bane?”.
