Mission statement for teaching at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences

Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences is a place of higher education for people from all countries and cultures. We – its lecturers and students – are convinced that this diversity enriches our academic community.

We view teaching and research at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences as inextricably connected, sharing the common goals of preserving, imparting and expanding knowledge. Our students not only learn about state of the art research during their studies, but also actively generate new knowledge of their own, particularly in advanced courses.

Our lecturers accompany students on their individual study paths and push them to reach new heights. Motivation and dedication are expected from lecturers and students alike.

Our teaching and learning methods are modern, tailored to specific learning objectives and continuously evaluated for effectiveness. Our lecturers broaden and train their professional and pedagogical skills on a regular basis to maintain a high degree of teaching quality.

Teaching at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences is dialogue-driven and an open avenue for intercultural exchange. New impulses for communication and collaboration across traditional disciplinary boundaries are generated systematically by cross-programme modules and interdisciplinary research. Our students are introduced to the many requirements of regional and international labour markets through practice-oriented teaching and early contact with our numerous industry partners during their studies.
