The year in review: Major alumni reunion of the Bio Science and Health and Quality, Environment, Safety and Hygiene (QUSH) degree programs
On May 12, 90 former students returned to the Kleve campus - a record in the history of alumni reunions at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences. Together with professors and current students, it was an entertaining evening in the canteen. The event was initiated by Adam Pietzka, who graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Bio Science and Health in 2013.
The event was officially opened by the Dean of Studies, Professor Simon. Professor Schumachers, Head of the QUSH degree program, first presented the development of student numbers at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences and in the QUSH degree program. In her short presentation, Professor Moenickes (Head of the Bio Science and Health degree program) addressed the two central questions "What has become of the degree program?" and "What has become of you?". She reported on how the curriculum has changed since the start of the program and presented evaluations from the graduate survey, which show a positive overall mood.
The buffet was then opened and the majority of the evening was dedicated to exchanging ideas, networking, reunions and making new contacts. "It is very important for us to promote the loyalty of alumni and students at the university, to have an opportunity to stay in contact with them and to make this network useful for everyone," said Schumachers. Ms. Moenickes was delighted to receive so much feedback from alumni and their ideas for the further development of the course. "The feedback from our former students is very valuable for the upcoming reaccreditations," said Moenickes.
