Make an Impact! Day

Making the world a better place while earning money with it? What is the Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences doing in terms of sustainability, and which projects and initiatives are  concerned with this topic? How can I find sustainable solutions to social and environmental problems? Answers to all of these questions and more will be provided at the "Make an Impact! Day" on 1st of June. The Career Service FSE and StartGlocal invite you to various lectures and workshops in front of and inside Building 2. 

1 p.m. – 1:40 p.m. I Keynote: Social & Impact Start-ups: How New Business Approaches Solve the World’s Biggest Challenges

Ulrike Trenz, founder of the Impact Hub Ruhr, will introduce you to the topic of social entrepreneurship. She will point out how sustainable ideas and new business models can change the world.

1:45 p.m. - 2:45 p.m. I Start-up Talk with Pottburri

Meet Antonia Cox, founder of the social start-up Pottburri, and learn how she and her brother managed to convince the investor Ralf Dümmel from the TV-series “Höhle der Löwen” (the German version of “Shark Tank”) with their biodegradable plant pots.

2:30 p.m. – 6 p.m. I Sustainability Fair (in front of buildings 2 and 3)

Stroll along our Sustainability Fair in front of Building 2 and get to know sustainable projects, initiatives and start-ups at the Faculty Society and Economics and the whole Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences. In addition, the houseboat AnnaSpoy will take part. The mobile coffee cart will be nearby on this day and cold drinks will also be provided. Registration is not necessary - just come along.

3:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. I Workshop: Solutions for a Better World

Do you want to develop ideas that can change the world? Learn the most important steps to an impact idea under the guidance of social entrepreneurship coach Ulrike Trenz and test them directly in our interactive workshop!

6 p.m. – 8 p.m. I Start-up Circle

Be part of our start-up community and end off the day at our networking event on the houseboat AnnaSpoy.
