About 40 students from the Master’s in Sustainable Development Management participated in a workshop from 14 to 15 May, 2019. The workshop had been organised by the Faculty of Society and Economics and the German Development Institute (GDI-DIE). GDI-DIE hosted the students who had the opportunity to learn more about the work of the institute and its research facilities. Throughout the workshop, Dr Mark Furness (GDI-DIE) and Professor Alexander Brand (RWU) advised the students on how to write a policy paper. In addition, the students had the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the work of the Sustainable Development Solutions Network Germany (SDSN), Welthungerhilfe and the Civil Peace Service (zfd, located in Cologne). A visit to the German Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development was used to discuss the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals and the Agenda 2030 in and through Germany.
