Soil Science and Plant Nutrition

The research group Soil Science and Plant Nutrition is dedicated to investigating ways to bolster horticultural production systems despite rising levels of abiotic stress. Other research questions, including how to boost the efficiency (e.g. nutrient absorption) of these systems or strengthen their resilience and ecological performance, will also be the subject of intensive study. To that end, researchers will seek answers among the interactions of plant roots with soil, in particular with the myriad microorganisms found therein.
