Prof. Dr. Tobias Dalhaus

Tobias Dalhaus’ research aims to develop strategies that enable food systems to provide sufficient nutrition, remain economically and ecologically sustainable, and at the same time be resilient to forthcoming changes in global dietary habits, climate change, market fluctuations, and biodiversity loss. His work focuses particularly on the impact and management of risks along agri-food value chains and on evaluating policy measures to address these risks.

Having grown up on a farm, Tobias Dalhaus studied Agricultural Sciences and Agricultural and Food Economics at the University of Bonn and earned his PhD from ETH Zurich in 2018. In 2020, he joined Wageningen University as an Assistant Professor, where he currently remains affiliated as an Associate Professor. Since 2025, Tobias Dalhaus has held the position of Professor of Agribusiness at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences.
