Financial Aid

Scholarships

Scholarships offer a limited, but very welcome financial boost. In Germany, scholarships are generally funded by foundations or other private organisations and provide both financial and non-material benefits. A common misconception is that only those students who dedicate every waking moment to studying can qualify for a scholarship. In reality, selection criteria usually consist of three equally weighted components:

  • Good to excellent academic performance
  • Social engagement
  • Personality and special circumstances

A wide range of scholarships are available and open to applicants. One option is the Deutschlandstipendium (“Germany Scholarship”), a €300/month stipend for talented and hard working students that awarded by Rhine-Waal University.
