Library Tours and Tutorials
The library team is dedicated to promoting information literacy, the ability to effectively locate, evaluate and use needed information. To this end, the library staff will be pleased to offer tours introducing the library and a number of tutorials.
Lecturers and other staff members of Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences will find a comprehensive overview of organisation, framework and conditions, as well as detailed descriptions of the module curricula offered by the library via the QM portal.
Students and others interested in the library’s introductory programmes should check in Moodle whether we already have a suitable date and are welcome to contact our staff directly via:
Library Tour
Familiarise yourself with the library by taking an introductory tour of the facilities on Kleve or Kamp-Lintfort Campus. You will get to know the library’s layout and arrangement of stock as well as the range of services to help you find all you need for your studies.
After completing the tour you will be able to:
- join the library with the documents needed to register.
- find books and other media on your field of study and other subject areas.
- check availability of books and other media at the library.
- borrow, return and renew an item.
- find and use the various work areas and many digital resources available.

Search Basics & Katalog PLUS
After completing this tutorial you will be able to:
- use various search tools available to find scientific literature.
- search for media in our discovery system Katalog PLUS.
- access printed or online media you have found in Katalog PLUS.
- access further features our Katalog PLUS offers.
- request an interlibrary loan.
- apply basic search techniques.

Using Professional Library Databases
After completing this tutorial, you will be able to:
- choose and access subject specific databases licensed by the library, as well as databases that are freely accessible.
- search for full text articles from journals and other documents in subject specific databases.
- access the documents you have found.
- apply search techniques efficiently and effectively.
