The Centre for Internationalisation and Languages (ZIS) is the central hub for the international activities of Rhine-Waal University with regard to internationalisation, language skills and intercultural communication. In line with the international character of Rhine-Waal University since its founding in 2009, the current Strategic Development Plan affirms and advances the institutional objective to anchor internationality into all areas of activity.
Accordingly, ZIS advises the Executive Board and academic departments on the development and advancement of internationalisation initiatives and assists in their organisational implementation. ZIS coordinates exchanges as well as funding opportunities such as the DAAD’s scholarship programs PROMOS and STIBET as well as the ERASMUS Programme of the European Union for all HSRW students, staff and researchers. Furthermore, it supports international exchange students from all over the world, who come to Rhine-Waal University for one or two semesters of study. The Centre for Internationalisation and Languages (ZIS) is the first point of contact for all matters related to international mobility and university partnerships at HSRW.
Finally, ZIS actively supports and promotes the intercultural development and integration of students and staff through a wide range of language courses offered at no additional charge. German courses make up the bulk of its course offer, but other languages such as English, Spanish and more are also represented.
