1.1 On the path to a UAS professorship? Strategic career planning and development

The workshop provides detailed information on career paths leading to a professorship at Universities of Applied Sciences (UAS), along with the associated prerequisites, framework conditions, and requirements. The goal is to gain greater clarity about the professional role of a UAS professor. Participants will have the opportunity for a comprehensive self-assessment: they will reflect on whether a UAS professorship is a suitable career option for them, based on their career preferences and interests, and develop an individual competence profile to assess and evaluate their existing skills and qualifications. Building on this, participants will develop strategies to achieve a UAS professorship. They will analyze which competencies need to be deepened, which new ones must be acquired, and what specific steps can be taken to prepare for a successful application for a UAS professorship in order to improve their chances.

Key Topics:

• Individual career planning: Is a UAS professorship a suitable career option for me?

• Requirements analysis: What specific qualifications are expected for a UAS professorship?

• Competence profile: What skills do I already have? What should I further develop or acquire additionally?

• Strategic planning: How can I achieve a UAS professorship? How can I best prepare for an application?

Individual coaching sessions will be offered in support of these efforts.
