Mission Statement of the Controlling and Statistics Unit

The Office of Controlling and Statistics (SCS) functions as a dependable and trustworthy partner for all members of Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences. Our motto is strengthening evidence-informed decision-making.

The results of data analyses produced by the SCS are used by various teams and departments at HSRW, are recognised as helpful and beneficial tools, and represent tangible contributions towards greater levels of transparency at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences. Moreover, they also contribute to the continued development of Rhine-Waal University’s degree programmes and the success rates of its students.

Decision-makers at HSRW can rely on data provided by the Office of Controlling and Statistics to make informed decisions. Data generated by the SCS serves to improve both quality and quantity of teaching and research. Data is collected and summarised in reports provided not only to central administrators, but also decentral decision-makers in the faculties and individual degree programmes as well.

The SCS helps pinpoint areas within Rhine-Waal University which can benefit from better coordination.

The SCS is responsible for ensuring that Rhine-Waal University’s official statistics adhere to high standards of quality.

The SCS is responsible for satisfying the legal requirements for capacity calculations, ensuring that degree programmes with restricted admissions (N.C.) can operate within a framework of legal certainty.

The SCS also maintains Lehrport, a tool for properly documenting teaching hours, in order to comply with legal requirements in Germany and provide decision-makers with an informative overview of current teaching capacities.
