Workshop on Sustainable Innovations in Agriculture

Climate change poses major challenges to agriculture. On April 19, 2024, approximately 70 participants from associations, organisations, research, services, politics, business, and practice gathered for a workshop on sustainable innovations in agriculture at Haus Riswick in Kleve.

The funding program 'European Innovation Partnerships for Agricultural Productivity and Sustainability' (EIP-Agri) can support agriculture in North Rhine-Westphalia in this regard. In her keynote speech, Prof. Daniela Lud from the Faculty of Communication and Environment at Rhine-Waal University emphasized the importance of knowledge exchange for strengthening innovation processes in agriculture. Starting from the conditions of the agricultural knowledge innovation system in Germany, she formulated good framework conditions for innovation processes and presented the EU-FarmBook project. The EU-FarmBook project aims to establish an open, European online knowledge and innovation platform by 2029, which is intended to support knowledge exchange and innovations in agriculture and forestry.
