A Strong Signal for Active Partnership
Successful Panel Discussion with Delegation from Fitchburg
On May 20, 2025, Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences (HSRW) welcomed a delegation from its long-standing partner institution, Fitchburg State University (FSU), to its Kamp-Lintfort campus. As part of the visit, a well-attended panel discussion on the topic “Partnership in Times of Global Uncertainty” was held. The event also highlighted the enduring sister-city relationship between Kleve and Fitchburg.
The discussion focused on transatlantic relations and Europe's role in security policy in light of current global challenges. Strong attendance and active participation highlighted the shared interest in international cooperation.
The event began with welcoming remarks from Fitchburg Mayor Samantha Sqailia, Kamp-Lintfort Mayor Professor Dr Christoph Landscheidt, and Professor Dr Klaus Hegemann, Dean of the Faculty of Communication and Environment. Expert input was provided by Professor Dr Joshua Spero (FSU) and Professor Alexander Brand (HSRW), followed by an engaging discussion with the audience.
The event underscored the importance of academic exchange and demonstrated how international partnerships can be continuously developed and actively maintained.
