Thirty enthusiastic students had the opportunity to participate in the simulation game. Working in dynamic groups, the students shaped virtual companies operating in the consumer goods industry. Students had to create realistic business plans and take managerial decisions concerning the first two years of their business activity. Besides this, they had to deal with deadlines, team processes, and different individual and group assignments.

“What I like very much about StartUp business simulation is the fact that it stimulates the active engagement of our students. It helps students learn more about the real business world by allowing them to implement theory and better understand the impact of their decisions. Not only that it challenges them to analyse available information provided, but it also creates unique group dynamics. I have been impressed by how much students enjoy participating in the simulation game. The major strengths of this year’s business simulation remain the diversity of outcomes, the powerful learning and the rich discussions.” says Raluca Zekić, instructor of the business simulation and scientific staff at the Faculty of Life Sciences.

Now, Raluca Zekić and Dietrich Darr, Professor of Agribusiness, awarded the StartUp trophy to the winning team.
