Hackday Niederrhein

‘Hey, we can do that with data!’

‘Hey, we can do that with data!’ is the motto of this year’s second annual Hackday Niederrhein in Moers from 9-10 April 2016. Hackday Niederrhein, which focuses largely on open source programming and data, is a chance for residents, pupils and hobby programmers to meet with programming professors and students from Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences, as well as with other programming experts from around the region.

Kleve/Kamp-Lintfort, 21 March 2016: The co-organisers of Hackday Niederrhein, the city of Moers and the Bertelsmann Foundation, want to introduce visitors and participants to the concept of freely available information – open source data – and show them how they can incorporate this data into programming projects. One possible project would be a real-time parking system that uses open source data to direct drivers to open parking spaces. The possible applications of open source data are almost limitless.

A particularly exciting part of Hackday Niederrhein is the workshop “Rocket Girls – Build your First Open Data Application”. The target group for this workshop is women and girls (in upper secondary), who are interested in learning about programming.

If you’re interested in hacking (whether newbie or black hat professional) or open data, you’re welcome to come! To register at no charge, please visit http://unserpad.de/p/Hackday_Moers.
