Orientation Week 2016

United in Diversity

Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences is a community of students from over 100 different nations, working together towards a common goal, building advanced skills and expertise, and experiencing new and exciting moments in their lives. The University’s annual orientation week, is a chance for new students to experience this community and come together to celebrate the start of another academic year at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences.

It is also an opportunity for first-semester students (‘freshers’) to ask questions about their studies, student life, and life in Germany, as well as learn more about the University and the surrounding cities and countryside. A week of fun and engaging events is planned, organised and run by the Welcome Centre staff, and will include not only important information events for every new student, but also a Campus Rally (a timed team race with trivia and physical challenges), an open-air market for students and pub crawls to get to know downtown Kleve and Kamp-Lintfort.

Barbecues will provide great opportunities for newcomers to speak with existing students and gather first-hand tips and advice for mastering their studies. The Welcome Centre tutors will be a constant resource for new students, always on hand to answer students’ many burning questions, whether on scholarships, accommodation or even just registering with the library. A giant semester opening party will conclude the week and kick off the start of the lecture period.
