School pupils, friends, parents and members of the general public took the opportunity to learn about our degrees and faculties and to stroll through our modern auditoriums, computer pools, labs, library and language centre. Professors and students were on-hand to assist and answer questions. On top of this they enjoyed a whole bunch of interesting events, fun activities, a new quiz app – as well as a bonus anniversary programme for families.

Guided tours of the future LaGa site and a tree planting campaign also met with great interest. Visitors were able to contribute to sustainable climate improvement and donate to a tree which is going to be planted in Germany or worldwide.

Visitors were fascinated by our international but yet familiar atmosphere. “On Open Day we want visitors to experience and feel what University is all about. Our vibrant atmosphere on the Kamp-Lintfort Campus is very special and the broad offer of degree programmes is inspiring“, says Professor Dr Schürholz, Dean of the Faculty.

The cheerfulness was supported by Angels Revolution – a cheerleader team from Kamp-Lintfort – and swinging acrobatics by Sören Niewelt and Jessica Sarah Larbig, both coaches at the ballet school in Geldern. Moers-based DJ Fabian Farell, resident DJ of the legendary Bootshaus in Cologne and the band Daily Friday made the crowd dance in the evening.
