Internationalisation projects

Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences has distinguished and positioned itself as a university that lives and breathes everything international. As one Germany’s most international universities, it stands today as a leader in the field of internationalisation.

Its large share of international students – over 50% of the student body has an international background, representing more than 120 different countries – has helped advance the University’s internationalisation efforts across the board. Seventy-five percent of our degree programmes are now taught in English. Employees of Rhine-Waal University hail from more than 30 different countries. International collaboration is a strength of our university reflected also in our long list of active partnerships with over 90 universities in 38 countries. Incorporating as many different perspectives, skills, knowledge and experiences as possible results in a net benefit to the quality of our research, which is reflected in the solutions developed for complex, multifaceted problems.

The Centre for Internationalisation and Languages (CIL) supports both the Executive Board and the faculties in developing and implementing policies in internationalisation and integration, but also with participation and diversity awareness, as well as funding proposals in connection with the DAAD, the Erasmus programme and open calls from other funding organisations.

At the same time, CILalso manages its own internationalisation and integration projects, for example in the areas of student mobility, international partnerships, language courses for students and staff, intercultural advising and support for refugees. 

With its extensive experience and know-how, CILis dedicated to developing and executing innovative projects to achieve even greater levels of internationalisation at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences in the long term.
