Prof. Dr. Diana Marquardt

After finishing her M.A. (Magister) in Geography at RWTH Aachen University, Prof. Marquardt worked some years for two German development organizations and gained professional experience in the management of international development projects in Africa and Asia.

From 2005 - 2009 she wrote - after several months of field studies in Lao PDR- her PhD thesis about development cooperation in tourism and 2006 Mrs. Marquardt began to work as research assistant at Aachen University, Germany, where she assisted in the project management of international water research projects financed by EU.

In February 2012 she was appointed Professor for Tourism Economics with focus on Alternative Tourism.
