Free access to e-resources: COVID-19

Due to the global corona pandemic, many publishers are temporarily making e-journals, e-books and database content available for free. An Overview focused on COVID-19:

AAAS

AAAS offers a collection of information on COVID-19. The service includes research articles, current news and comments.

APA American Psychological Association

• Collection of freely available APA journal articles examining the psychological impact of a pandemic, the effects of economic stress on mental health, telehealth, and other topics related to the current crisis.
• For both clinicians and the general public, APA has a continually updated pandemics resource.

Cambridge Core

Cambridge Core makes its Coronavirus Free Access Collection freely available.

EBSCO

• EBSCO Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) Healthcare Resource Center: This is a compact collection of information on the topic, including a dynamic visualization of outbreak development, but also the daily growing open-access contribution from EBSCO's evidence-based medical reference source DynaMed® and three articles on the subject.
• EBSCO COVID-19-Portal: Links to official government websites, publications & studies, FAQs and much more. International (focus on USA) and country-specific information (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) compiled in a portal with browse, filter and search options.

Elsevier

Elsevier provides various information services on COVID-19 research. The services offered include:

• Elsevier COVID-19 Healthcare Hub: Information and toolkits for doctors and patients.
• Novel Coronavirus Information Center: professional, curated information for the research and healthcare community.
• Novel Coronavirus Resource Directory: information on Elsevier's various coronavirus initiatives for scientists, health professionals, librarians, students and other target groups.

IET

For the research and development of technical equipment (not only medical) for the detection and control of virus infections and their consequences, a database search and results list from the Inspec database is available for free download.

• List of technically relevant terms from the Inspec thesaurus and the Inspec subject area classification.
• Download the Inspec results list including DOI.

Springer

Springer provides a freely available selection of papers, book chapters and supplementary sources on COVID-19.

Wiley

Wiley currently offers free access to a collection of research articles from journals, books and databases in an information hub. These freely accessible resources are sorted by the most recent articles or by topics, such as epidemiology and prevention. In addition, selected websites of various publishers are linked.

ZB MED - Information Centre for Life Sciences

Gradual expansion of services to support research on SARS-CoV-2 in the field of virology and related areas. The ZB MED COVID-19 Hub is central. The services provided include:

• LIVIVO COVID-19 Collection with around 50,000 specific entries on SARS-CoV-2 and COVID-19 from various sources. These include the COVID-19 Open Research Dataset and current preprints from bioRxiv and medRxiv.
• Systematic overview of sources and publications on COVID-19 and SARS-CoV-2. The overview contains freely available publishing and open access offers and links preprint servers, databases and search portals. It also lists statistics, overview maps and training materials.
• COVID-19 Preprint Viewer: Based on text mining methods preprints from different sources (e.g. bioRxiv, medRxiv, ChemRxiv, arXiv and Preprints.org) are merged and hosted. The service is a first result of the DFG-funded task force COVID-19.
