Occupational health management

(OHM)

Occupational health management, or OHM, refers to the systematic, targeted and uninterrupted coordination of an organisation’s processes with the goal of ensuring the health, efficiency and success of both the organisation and all of its members as well.

OHM is about more than yoga courses or running groups (although these fitness activities are certainly a part of it!). Indeed, it is about shaping an organisation’s process such that they do not endanger the health and safety of members and, where possible, actually promote their health and safety instead. At HSRW, this is ensured, for example, through the “active break” courses offered during working hours.

Beyond health and fitness, improving the working atmosphere and the interaction between line managers an employees are key OHM topics, which makes it an important part of an organisation’s overall personnel development strategy.
