PEEK BEHIND THE CURTAIN OF A TECHNICAL CONTROL CENTRE!

Technicians from the Department of Facility Management will be offering a tour of a technical control centre, a section of Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences that’s usually off-limits to visitors. See how HSRW technical facilities operate behind the scenes. The maximum number of participants is limited to 20.

 

UNIVERSITY SPORTS

University Sports Programme, in front of building 11 / 12 , 14:00 - 18:00

You can play sports at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences? You sure can, and quite many in fact! Stop by our stands for a small selection, with volleyball, skate surfing and fencing on display! You can also sit in the cockpit of a real glider.

 

VEGAN SUBSTITUTE PRODUCTS - PRACTICAL INSIGHTS INTO THEIR COMPOSITION AND PRODUCTION

In the Food Technology Center, you can learn about the composition of selected vegan substitute products and how they can be produced - also in private households. Under the guidance of students on the Master's degree course in Food Science and staff from the department, you will gain practical insights into the topic in the Food Technology Center and can try your hand at producing vegan milk alternatives, gummy bears and vegan ice cream, for example.

TROPICAL GREENHOUSE TOURS

Take a tour of our Topical Greenhouse and adjacent Showpiece Gardens. See and smell both tropical flair and local gardening culture, with a wide range of plants on display. Tour times will be announced at the meeting spot above. Tours will take approx. 20 minutes. 

 

FUTURE GROWING SYSTEMS FOR THE LOWER RHINE

Faculty of Life Sciences, building 14, 14:30 and 16:30

Demonstration of the tiny agroforestry field laboratory (TransRegINT project). Agroforestry is the practice of creating complex ecosystems with permanent crops (such as fruit trees), annual field crops and livestock. Learn more and experience it for yourself first-hand. Tours will take approx. 20 minutes.

 

OPEN DISCUSSION: THE FUTURE OF HORTICULTURE ON THE LOWER RHINE

Artichokes instead of kale? Almonds instead of apples? Sorghum instead of corn? The question is not if, but when: which future crops of the Lower Rhine are being tested in and around the Tropical Greenhouse right now? (TransRegINT project) Tours will take approx. 20 minutes.

 

SUSTAINABLE FOOD - RECYCLING SCRAPS AND LEFTOVERS
