"Information security is not a feature but has to be thought about from the system design on".

All my courses are held according to this credo. In an increasingly interconnected world, secure development and design of software/hardware and processes is essential. I want to give my students the fire and skills to build reliable, resilient and secure systems.

Office Hours

By appointment via mail/Webex.

Note Open Door Policy: If the door to my office is open and I am sitting inside, you can come without an appointment. If you cannot find me in the office, I am probably in the Cloud Resilience Lab (03 02 110).

Theses/Practical Projects

  • You want to write a thesis with me? Feel free to contact me with your topic or come to me for topic suggestions. A (more or less) up-to-date list of topics can be found here. Talk to me either directly on campus or via Mail.
  • Either on campus or by mail.
You are a company representative and want to discuss topics for theses? Please feel free to contact me by Mail.

Current Research

I am currently researching various aspects of information security awareness, Internet phenomenon measurements, healthcare information security, and mobile security.
