"University meets business" – Unternehmerkreis visits Rhine-Waal University
The Unternehmerkreis (Business Network) Kamp-Lintfort gathered on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, for the "University Meets Business" event on the campus of Rhine-Waal University. The evening provided an excellent opportunity for guests to exchange ideas and perspectives, highlighting once again the importance of collaboration between academia, business, and the local community.
Dean Professor Dr Klaus Hegemann welcomed around 40 guests and, in his opening speech, looked back on 15 years of the university’s successful development. He emphasized the university's key role in educating highly qualified professionals and its close ties to the regional economy. The high level of practical experience embedded in all academic programmes plays a crucial role in meeting the region's skilled labour needs and boosting economic growth.
“With this year’s event, we continue to strengthen the partnership between Rhine-Waal University and the local business community. Our goal is to deepen the dialogue and show how collaborative efforts drive innovation and progress,” said Professor Hegemann.
A highlight of the evening was the introduction of new members of the city marketing association by Thomas Scheffler, along with updates from the city administration, presented by Mayor Christoph Landscheidt. Engaging short presentations outlined the latest projects and initiatives aimed at promoting Kamp-Lintfort and the surrounding region.
Additionally, attendees had the chance to join guided tours through the university's state-of-the-art laboratories, providing fascinating insights into current research projects and practice-oriented study content.
"University Meets Business" proved to be a successful evening, further strengthening the bonds between the university, local businesses, and the city, while reaffirming the university’s role as a key driver of regional development.
