Kleve/Kamp-Lintfort, 26 November 2016: Young specialists are a hot commodity in the Lower Rhine region. With over 6,000 students studying in a wide range of fields, Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences offers enormous potential for regional companies looking to win over future experts. One of the 20 companies that will be on the lookout for new talent at the upcoming Speed Dating event is the Dinslaken-based Signode System GmbH, a leading producer of steel and non-metallic strapping for the industrial packaging industry. Signode System GmbH, which also operates internationally, wants to introduce themselves to students and attract talent to their organisation. They will be offering numerous work placements in their facilities, giving students the opportunity to put theory into practice. “By attracting sutiable candidates, we’re able to build up a young talent pool to overcome any future shortages of skilled labour we may encounter,” says Reinhard Bittner, Management Group Controller and HR Manager at Signode System GmbH. “Speed Dating is a unique chance for us to meet highly motivated students that would be a good fit at our company.”

Signode System GmbH isn’t alone in this regard. “A number of companies have become regular faces at Speed Dating,” notes Stefan Finke, Managing Director of the sponsor organisation Hochschule Rhein-Waal e.V., a co-organiser of the event. “They appreciate the amount of time and money they can save compared to the usual interview process.” The ‘speed dates’ are conducted in intervals of roughly 10 minutes each, which allows company representatives to interview an average of twelve candidates over the course of the three-hour event.

Though this will be the last Speed Dating event of 2015, future events are already being planned for Kleve and Kamp-Lintfort in 2016.
