Rhine-Waal sponsoring organisation delivers on a special request of Prof. Klotz

“Friends of Campus Cleve” funds a new Smart ForFour for AStA

District of Kleve – The supporting organisation “Friends of Campus Cleve e.V.” is keeping AStA mobile: as part of the annual general assembly of the organisation’s now 266 donating members, Chairperson Peter Wack – surrounded by members and guests – officially presented the university with a brand-new Smart ForFour. In keeping with the name of the car, the white logo “Friends of Campus Cleve” appears on four different parts of the black chassis, giving the car an unmistakable flair. In the final days leading up to the end of her tenure as university president, Prof. Dr. Marie-Louise Klotz accepted the sponsoring organisation’s gift on behalf of the university and expressed her excitement and deep gratitude to the entire assembly.

The board of the sponsoring organisation Friends of Campus Cleve is proud to support the university and AStA with a new Smart Forfour (f.l.t.r.): Prof. Dr. Marie-Louise Klotz, Peter Wack, Siegfried Assmann, Dr. Rainer Schramm, Monika Geenen, Wolfgang Spreen, Volker Wein, Hans-Josef Kuypers, Wilfried Röth and Dr. Kurt Kreiten.

“This is just one more example in a long line of fantastic gestures from ‘Friends of Campus Cleve’”, said Prof. Dr. Klotz. At the end of January, the president notified the managing director of the organisation, Hans-Josef Kuypers, of the General Students’ Committee’s (AStA) need for a vehicle to travel between both campus locations in Kleve and Kamp-Lintfort. The sponsoring organisation has helped AStA remain mobile for a number of years now: they arranged a leasing deal with the dealership Mercedes Herbrand, for example, which produced two brand-new A-Class vehicles for four years of official use by the students’ committee. “We can’t thank Mercedes Herbrand enough for their support”, said Kuypers of the dealership, which also numerous locations throughout the region. “That’s why we immediately went to them to lease the new Smart ForFour for the university.” The leasing contract will run for 36 months.
