Award for Professor Dr Marion Halfmann
Professor Dr Marion Halfmann, Professor for Marketing and Market-Oriented Management as well as the Vice-President for Studies, Teaching and Continuing Training at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences, has been recognised as one of the best professors in Germany. UNICUM BERUF, a popular magazine for university graduates in Germany, has selected her as the second best Professor of the Year 2015 for the category ’Economics / Law’.
Kleve/Kamp-Lintfort, 26 November 2015: This year, students, employers, graduates, researchers and representatives of the private sector nominated close to 1,600 professors for the Professor of the Year 2015 competition held by the graduate magazine UNICUM BERUF. Of this large pool of candidates, Rhine-Waal University’s own Professor Dr Marion Halfmann, Professor for Marketing and Market-Oriented Management at the Faculty of Society and Economics, was awarded with the second place prize for her excellent and practice-oriented methods in teaching and research.
Professor Dr Halfmann’s students regard her as a ‘coach’ who not only motivates, but also bridges the gap between work and education thanks in part to how she is able to incorporate her network of industry contacts into her teaching. This was a convincing argument for UNICUM jury, which saw her as a professor that effectively prepares students for future careers. “I’m very pleased to be awarded this prize,” said Professor Dr Halfmann. “Practical relevance is of the upmost importance to me, and I’m happy to see that my approach is so well received by students.”
