HSRW participates in winning contribution at the ENLIGHT Impact Award 2024

In June 2024, Inge de Bo (Ghent University, scientific coordinator of the EU-FarmBook project), Eduard Mauri (European Forest Institute, project partner of EU-FarmBook), and Daniela Lud (Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences, coordinator of the impact activities of the EU-FarmBook project) received the prestigious ENLIGHT Impact Ambassador Award. This honour, which comes with a prize of 5000 euros, recognizes outstanding contributions under the main theme "Digital Revolution and the Impact of Digitalization."

ENLIGHT is an initiative of ten leading European universities aiming to transform European higher education, break down learning barriers, and empower students to engage globally and improve the handling of global challenges. The winners were honoured for their pioneering contributions to digitalization and its societal impact.

The EU-FarmBook project plays a central role in utilizing digital technologies to promote sustainable agriculture and forestry in Europe. Hundreds of European research projects generate valuable knowledge that contributes to addressing important challenges such as climate change. This knowledge could be used by thousands of farmers, foresters, and advisors to promote sustainable practices.

The innovative, open, and interactive online platform EU-FarmBook for agriculture and forestry was launched on February 8, 2024, and invites all interested parties to support Europe’s transition to sustainable agriculture through the provision and use of innovative knowledge. This platform enables scientists and professionals to connect and share their knowledge efficiently.

The prize money from the ENLIGHT Impact Ambassador Award will be used to cover travel and conference costs to further increase the dissemination and impact of the EU-FarmBook project.
