The Euro - Future of a Common Currency

The penal discussion of this year´s Wednesday Academy will be held under the motto "The Euro - Future of a Common Currency". On June 19, the Faculty of Society and Economics warmly invites all interested to the event taking place on the Kleve Campus, Marie-Curie-Str. 1, Building 1 (Lecture Hall Centre), Room 004 in Kleve at 5pm.

Kleve/Kamp-Lintfort, May 24, 2013: Is it the end for the euro? Will the monetary union break up on Greek and Cyprian debts? Is my money still safe? Everybody is currently talking about the financial, debt and monetary crisis. Hardly any other topic is affecting students of the university and large extents of the population as much as the current situation of the European Monetary Union.

The Faculty of Society and Economics at the Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences will open its doors with its "Wednesday Academy" to a broad audience - always dealing with issues on current social challenges, which are also important to the region.

In this context, the current situation of the European Monetary Union will be looked at from different angles. Expert speakers from science and politics want to give insight in this and discuss their assessments together. These discussions will focus on development, causes, consequences and possible solutions to the euro crisis.

After an introductory presentation, different approaches will be presented and discussed by the speakers. Following this, there will be open discussions and an opportunity to ask questions of the speakers.

Participation is free and open to all interested public. Previous registration is not necessary.
