Students from the Bachelor's programme in Bio Science and Health visited the A+A trade fair in Düsseldorf and gained exciting insights into occupational safety, health promotion and occupational health management (BGM).
As part of the health promotion module, the students were able to learn first-hand how companies support and promote the health of their employees.
Practical experience through expert interviews
Through interviews with experts and discussions with established companies and innovative start-ups, the students received concrete answers to questions such as ‘How can a company effectively support the health of its employees?’ and ‘What tools and programmes are used?’ The insights gained are now being incorporated into a BGM concept that is currently being developed.
Contacts and prospects for starting a career
The fair also offered the opportunity to make initial contacts with companies: ‘I was even able to make initial contacts with companies where I can complete my practical semester,’ reports one student.
The event highlighted the importance of health, not only for individuals but also as a factor in the success of companies. In addition, the students gained valuable insights into the world of work and possible career paths.
The students were accompanied on their visit to the A+A trade fair by Prof. Dr. Robert Renner, Professor of Health Promotion and Nutrition, and Heike Holtappel, research assistant at the Faculty of Life Sciences.
