Shaping the Future: Strengthening Collaborations for 2026

How can we strengthen collaborations in a more targeted way? Where can we simplify processes and make them more efficient? And what goals can we set today for a successful 2026? The “Ready to Match?” workshop at the Faculty of Communication and Environment provided a space to ask the right questions – and find answers together with an eye on the future.

Professor Dr Klaus Hegemann, René König, and Miriam Drazek invited representatives from Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences, local businesses, municipalities, and the Chamber of Commerce to come together and explore the future of successful collaborations. The aim of the event was to foster dialogue between academia, business, and public stakeholders, while developing new ideas for sustainable cooperation.

The focus was on key questions around how collaborations are formed and how they can be actively nurtured. Participants also worked together to review existing processes and identify areas where improvements could be made. In interdisciplinary groups, they developed practical ideas and project concepts with a clear focus on 2026 and how to put them into action.

The workshop created a space for open discussions, different perspectives, and hands-on exchanges. The outcomes and insights from the day will serve as an important foundation for future joint projects and deeper collaboration in the region.
