Invitation to the Launch Event of the "Sustainability Initiative wir4-Region"
Sustainability concerns all of us, and companies, in particular, face special challenges. Increasingly, even small and medium-sized enterprises are required to disclose various aspects of the sustainability of their business processes in a more standardized form, even if only as suppliers in the value chain of larger corporations. While this increasingly ties up resources, a more sustainable corporate strategy actually offers enormous opportunities: It helps to optimize processes and thus saves costs. It also reduces risks, thereby convincing investors and securing liquidity, promotes innovation and opens up new markets.
The "Sustainability Initiative wir4-Region" is dedicated to these topics and will officially launch on June 26. This initiative is scientifically supported by our university as part of the TransRegINT project, in close cooperation with the Förderverein Campus Camp-Lintfort and the wir4 Agency for Economic and Structural Development.
Professor Alexander Gerber, an expert in sustainability communication, will highlight both the requirements and opportunities arising from the new reporting obligations in his keynote speech. The wir4 agency will present the results of a sustainability survey among companies in the region. Following this, there will be time for networking over a cool drink and a small snack.
Throughout the year, our initiative will focus on the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) aspects. We particularly aim to address the needs of you, the regional companies, and to work together to develop solutions in various formats. Additionally, a scientific study on sustainability communication in our region is being prepared, as well as a call for cooperative final theses.
Be part of the Sustainability Initiative wir4-Region and benefit from expert knowledge, dialogue, and networking.
The event is free of charge.
