Property and the right of inheritance shall be guaranteed. Their content and limits shall be defined by the laws.

Small and medium-sized enterprises in agriculture, the trades, commerce and industry, as well as freelance professions, shall be promoted. 

People yearn for self-determination. For this reason, the state guarantees the rights of property and inheritance. These form the basis of private initiative and are considered fundamental rights, reflected in how they are enshrined in law as both basic rights and institutional guarantees.

The photograph depicts founder and businessman Friedrich Antoni, born in 1937, who began a career as a freelance artist with his first commission in 1968: a 240 m² sgraffito-style mural for the Reichstag building in Berlin. Presently, his children are managing partners of the small restoration business for historical buildings and monuments he founded, and the photograph shows him with his daughter Elena in the company’s workshop.
