Introductory session
Get to know your faculty and your Degree programme. At our Faculty Day, which forms part of Freshers’ Week (28 September–2 October 2026), we’ll introduce you to your Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree programme in the morning and the faculty’s other offerings in the afternoon.
Morning programme
Get excited about your Degree Programme and your faculty: presentations of the Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree programmes will take place in the morning between 10 am and 1 pm
The rooms and exact times will always be announced in good time before Freshers’ Week.

Afternoon programme
After lunch, come and find out more about your faculty, what it has to offer and the people behind it. Are you new to the faculty – and want to know what else is on offer here besides your Degree programme?
Then join our faculty rally for first-year students!
Following the information sessions in the morning, the rally starts in the afternoon at 1.30 pm and lasts until around 4 pm. In small teams, you’ll explore the key points of contact in a fun way, get to know the services and the people behind the faculty – and tackle exciting tasks together at various stations.

Entry requirements & recognition
For all Bachelor’s degree programmes
The 8-week basic intership/pre-placement must be completed in a field relevant to the subject and is usually to be undertaken before the start of the degree programme, but no later than upon re-registration for a new semester.
Additionally for all English-taught Bachelor’s degree programmes
Sufficient knowledge of English (corresponding to level B2 according to the Common European Framework (CEF))
Language entry requirements
Proficiency in English at B2 level is required. You can find more detailed information on the required English language proficiency under FAQs for Prospective Students
Academic entry requirements
Master’s in Sustainable Development Management (M.A.): Proof of a first professional degree in a relevant degree programme (social sciences, economics or industrial engineering).
Master’s in Economics and Finance (M.Sc.): Proof of a first professional degree in a relevant subject area, comprising at least 210 ECTS credits or seven standard full-time semesters.
An overall grade of at least 2.5 for the first degree, or an A or B on the ECTS grading scale

Preparatory courses
The Foundation Courses run by the Faculty of Society and Economics take place a few weeks before the start of the Winter semester and are aimed at first-year students on Bachelor’s degree programmes. Their aim is to bring students’ knowledge up to the same level or to refresh their knowledge.
