In Katalog PLUS, you can use the ‘Articles & more’ tab to search for articles from academic journals, amongst other things.
At this stage, LibKey Discovery checks all platforms available to our library (databases, publishers’ websites, open-access sources) for each result and, with a single click, directs you to the best possible full text version of the article. The download indicator is integrated into the search results list and the detailed view, reducing the need to navigate via intermediate pages.
Please note:
- If the link to the full text is not marked with the note “via LibKey”, we will provide you with access via another route.
- If an article is not available in full text (for example, because no licence is available), please use the “How do I get it?” button. This will redirect you to the interlibrary loan service, where you can place an order for a single article.
In some cases, the functional redirection to the full text or to the interlibrary loan service via LibKey has also been integrated into the specialist databases licensed by the library.
For example, if you are searching the Business Source Ultimate or APA PsycArticles databases, simply click on the ‘Availability’, ‘Find full text’ or ‘Access options’ button.
LibKey Nomad is a free browser extension that allows you to easily download full-text documents provided by the library whilst searching the web (e.g. on publishers’ websites, in databases or on portals).
No matter where you are on the web, you can see at a glance whether you can access an article or an e-book.
LibKey Nomad is available for all popular desktop browsers and only needs to be installed once:
- Download the LibKey Nomad browser extension
- Select as organisation: “Hochschule Rhein-Waal”
When searching on websites such as Wikipedia or Amazon, you’ll see buttons featuring the university logo beneath the references for which full texts are available. There are various ways to access the full text: view the e-book, download the PDF, view access options or follow the link to the article.
Please note:
- LibKey Nomad is only compatible with desktop/laptop browsers and not with mobile or tablet browsers.
- LibKey Nomad only works if there is a reference for redirection, e.g. a URL, DOI or PMID.
- If an article is not available in full text (e.g. because no licence is available), you will be redirected to the interlibrary loan service, where you can place an order for a single article.
You can also use the search box on the LibKey website to search directly for a full-text article by entering the DOI or PubMed ID.
