Can you plug wind into a socket? How is electricity generated from sunlight? And what does hydrogen actually have to do with our energy supply?

At the Children’s University, we’ll explore together how our energy supply has changed: where did our energy come from in the past, how do we generate it today, and what might it look like in the future?

We’ll discover how wind turbines and solar panels work, why renewable energy is becoming increasingly important, and what role hydrogen might play in the future. It’s not just about how energy is generated, but also about how it reaches our homes and what we use it for every day.

Just as fascinating is the question of how much energy we actually use. Where do we need a lot of it? Where might energy be wasted? And what can we do ourselves to use energy more mindfully?

Together, we’ll experiment, discover, ask questions and think about what a sustainable energy supply might look like in the future.

At the Children’s University, children learn how electricity is generated from the sun, wind and hydrogen – in the past, today and in the future – and how it reaches our homes. They also discover where a lot of energy is used every day and what simple tricks can help us save it in our daily lives.
