Conspiracy theories, misinformation and propaganda are increasingly shaping our political landscape. Although reputable journalism still exists, many media consumers tend to seek confirmation of their own prejudices rather than engaging in critical scrutiny. Prof. Dr Jakob Lempp is a professor of political science at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences. His research focuses on the political systems of Central Asia, European integration, European party systems and populism.
