From 18 to 21 November 2025, the Centre for Research, Innovation and Transfer at Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences is hosting Start-up Week 2025 as part of the StartGlocal initiative. Four exciting events are planned: a workshop, a talk, a pitch session and a networking event. Students, alumni, staff and anyone in the region interested in starting a business will gain practical insights, useful tools and the chance to further develop their own start-up ideas, as well as to make new contacts.
Start-up Week 2025 at HSRW forms part of Lower Rhine Start-up Week and the global Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW), which features over 40,000 events and millions of participants across some 180 countries.
All events are free of charge and held in English.

Reality Check: The Challenges of Marketing and Branding Your Start-up

Prof. Dr Marina Gregorić (HSRW) will provide practical insights into the biggest hurdles in building a brand for start-ups. The focus will be on topics such as market research, SWOT analysis and the development of a marketing plan.
Start-up Talk with Revora: Food Infrastructure for Earth and Space

Besan Dahboor Engel, founder and CEO of Revora and an astronaut candidate, talks about her journey as a founder. She will demonstrate how carbon-neutral and data-driven food systems can be developed for Earth and space.
Business Idea Pitch & Poster Session
20 November 2025 | 09:30–12:00 | Kamp-Lintfort
Campus Students on the International Business Administration programme will present their business ideas in short pitches and a poster session. A panel of experts will provide feedback. Afterwards, there will be an opportunity to network.
Start-up Community Meetup: Brandilyst

Campus Ali Hussain, co-founder of Brandilyst and HSRW alumnus, shares his personal start-up story. Afterwards, there will be snacks and drinks, as well as an opportunity to network.
