Best Idea Cup 2026

Competition for innovative business ideas at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences

After a three-year hiatus, the Best Idea Cup at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences is back for a new round. Students and alumni from all faculties are invited to submit their innovative start-up ideas in the form of a three-page concept paper by 10 May 2026.

The eight best teams will have the opportunity to present their ideas to a panel of experts on 17 June 2026. The three best ideas will be awarded prize money of up to €1,200, a certificate and a twelve-month start-up coaching programme.

Furthermore, the competition offers the chance to forge valuable contacts within the start-up and innovation scene and to develop one’s own idea to the stage of submitting a grant application.

The Best Idea Cup is organised by the Centre for Research, Innovation and Transfer (ZFIT) as part of the ‘StartGlocal: Global Spirit for Local Start-ups’ project. The aim is to promote entrepreneurial thinking and support innovative ideas emerging from the university.
