Welcome to the Faculty of Life Sciences! At the Faculty Day during Freshers Week you get to know your degree programme, your faculty and the people behind it.
In the morning our Vice Dean Prof. Platte welcomes you, in German and in English. The programme sessions then introduce your bachelor’s or master’s degree programme, give you the key information for the start of your studies and leave room for your questions. Afterwards the student council takes over with its own programme.

Student council programme
The Life Sciences student council starts setting up a breakfast picnic in front of building 11 at 10:00. Everything is ready from 11:00, with baked goods available until 13:00. At 13:00 the student council takes you on a tour of the Life Sciences buildings, with small gifts along the way. The tour runs until 14:00. From 14:00 to 16:00 we sit together on the lawn with drinks. An info booth is open all day.
Welcome outside the Faculty Day
Three degree programmes hold their welcome for first-semester students not on the Faculty Day but in their first lecture.
