Welcome to the Faculty of Life Sciences! At the Faculty Day, which forms part of Freshers’ Week, you’ll get to know your degree programme, your faculty and the people behind it.
In the morning, our Vice-Dean, Prof. Platte, will welcome you in both German and English. Afterwards, we’ll introduce you to your Bachelor’s or Master’s degree programme during the programme sessions. You’ll receive the key information you need to get started with your studies and have the chance to ask any questions you may have. The Students’ Council will then take over with its own programme.

Student Council programme
From 12:00 to 15:00, the Life Sciences Student Council is organising a board games day on the ground floor of Building 6 – snacks and music will be provided! If there are enough participants, we’ll also be offering a guided tour of the faculty’s buildings.
Welcome event outside Faculty Day
For three degree programmes, the welcome session for first-year students will not take place on Faculty Day, but directly during the first lecture.

- Master’s in Health Sciences and Management: 14 October 2026, 8.00 am, Room KLE 11 EG 011, ‘Occupational Health Management’ module with Prof. Renner
- Bachelor’s in Quality, Environment, Safety and Hygiene: 5 October 2026, 2.00 pm, Room KLE 10 03 004, first lecture on ‘Fundamentals of Quality Management’ with Prof. Schumachers
