No access to interlibrary loan on 10 May 2024

On Friday, 10 May 2024, the interlibrary loan service will not be available from 9 am to approx. 5 pm due to system maintenance.

Library Closure on 09 May 2024

The library will be closed on Ascension Day, Thursday, 09 May 2024.

Limited service on 07 May 2024

On Tuesday, 07 May 2024, service hours at both locations will be cancelled due to an internal event. Opening hours will not be affected. Please note that fee payments and specialised information as well as signing applications for deregistration from the university will not be possible on this day.

WISO database available again

Following the hacking attack last week, access to the WISO database is now available again, although basic operation is currently still restricted and all data has yet to be updated. 

Kleve: New welcome sign on the ground floor

Just in time for the start of the Days of Antidiscrimination at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences, the library is positioning itself as an inclusive and safe place of learning - for everyone - with a new welcome sign in Kleve. By using the Inter* Inclusive Pride Flag, we want to contribute to a positive learning atmosphere and a feeling of safety for all students in the library.

The Intersex Inclusive Pride Flag expands the original rainbow flag by adding further colours and symbols and thus includes not only gays, lesbians and bisexuals, but also people of colour (PoC), blacks, trans*gender, intersex and non-binary people.

Kleve: Desk partitions for focussed working

Desk partitions have been installed at the workplaces on the 2nd and 6th floors of the library in Kleve. Thanks to their sound-absorbing and room-dividing function, these partitions should lead to more concentration and undisturbed working.

Changes to renewals of print media

The library has set up automatic renewals 5 days before the end of the loan period for all user groups. Automatic renewals are not possible if

• the maximum loan period of 180 calendar days has been reached.
• items have been reserved by other users.
• the library account is blocked.

If no renewal is possible, you will receive an advance reminder by email 5 days before the end of the loan period.

Of course, you can still renew your borrowed items in your library account via the Katalog PLUS.

Library Tours and Trainings

The library is offering several dates for guided tours and training courses in April and May, which you can book via Moodle. If no suitable dates are currently available, additional guided tours for groups of three or more people are possible by appointment. As an alternative to our training courses, you can take advantage of our one-to-one support service for individual literature research. Kleve: New guidance and orientation system

The guidance and orientation system in the Kleve library has been updated. You will now find information on the respective media stocks, rooms and technical equipment as well as floor plans for orientation on the respective floors. On the ground floor opposite the lifts and in the stairwell on all floors you will find a guide with an overview of the entire building.

We hope that the new guidance and orientation system will help our library users to find their way around the building and thus reduce the workload of the security service and library staff.
